The details

Who: We don't know the baby's name yet, but we do know it is a boy, and he weighed 7 lbs, 3 oz when he came into the world.

When: 5:26 a.m. London time (Fun fact: according to CNN weather, the baby was born exactly one minute after sunrise!)

Where: According to Buckingham Palace, the location of the Duchess' delivery is "private." The Royal couple have also said they're probably not going to do any post-partum photo ops. Why? They said they "look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family."

The word from Harry and Meghan

Prince Harry, already radiating proud papa energy, told reporters that "mother and baby are doing incredibly well."

How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we're both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there. I'm so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing. But this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I'm just over the moon.

The royal couple also thanked supporters on their official Instagram account :
Their Royal Highnesses thank you for your support and kindness during this exceptionally joyful time in their lives as they welcome their baby boy..
The big questions

What's his name going to be?
Obviously, people are dying to know the name of the newest little royal. It looks like even mom and dad may not know yet! Prince Harry says he and Meghan are still considering names for their newborn.

Any name hints?
Bookmakers have Arthur and Edward, as well as Philip (a nod to Harry's grandfather), among their top choices for the newborn.

And if you absolutely can't wait, perhaps CNN's Royal Baby Name Generator will help you peek into the future.

When are we going to see pictures?
According to Prince Harry, we probably won't get a glimpse of the baby until Wednesday.

Will the royal baby have dual citizenship?
Meghan and Harry's new son is the first British-American baby born into the British royal family, making him the inevitable star of countless bar trivia questions for generations to come.

The newborn will automatically be a British citizen, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have to report their child's birth to an American consulate in order for him to obtain US citizenship.

Will the royal baby be a prince?
Sadly, Baby Sussex will not automatically be a prince. Harry's great, great, great grandfather King George V restricted use of the titles Prince and Princess to certain senior members of the Royal Family. However, the Queen could step in to overrule that decree -- as she did with William and Catherine's younger children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. C'mon, your highness!

Where is the royal baby in the line of succession?
Baby Sussex will become the seventh in line to throne. Here's a handy chart:

Other well-wishes

Here's what the couple's family and friends had to say about the new babe:

"Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the arrival of their baby boy. Wishing you all the best at this happy time." -- Prime Minister Theresa May

"Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their baby boy. May God bless the new family with love, health and happiness." -- The Archbishop of Canterbury

"Really very lovely news today - many, many, congratulations! (Good to have another Taurean in the family....)" -- Charles Spencer, Princess Diana's brother

"Just heard that the world just got heavier by 7 pounds and 3 ounces. Much love to him and his incredible parents. Learned first hand 7 months ago how transformational becoming a parent is and couldn't be happier for Meghan and Harry as they begin this adventure." -- Patrick Adams, Meghan's "Suits" co-star
