Will SCOTUS give Trump his travel ban? ... Climate deal advocates reeling in wake of decision ... Trump knocks London mayor after attacks

Will the Supreme Court endorse the travel ban?

In response to news of an attack in London Saturday evening, President Donald Trump took to Twitter, writing: "We need to be smart, vigilant and tough. We need the courts to give us back our rights. We need the Travel Ban as an extra level of safety!"

Courts have so far blocked his two attempts to restrict travel temporarily from seven, then six Muslim-majority nations. The Department of Justice reached for the nation's highest court on Thursday evening, so some kind of decision could come soon.

Read more from CNN's Ariane de Vogue: "Many believe the justices will ultimately want to review the lower court opinions that struck down a major initiative of the Executive Branch. But would they allow the ban to go into effect immediately, before they even have the opportunity to hear arguments?

As the court contemplates the government's requests -- and the country and much of the world waits -- legal experts are in overdrive exploring potential off ramps for the justices. As usual, Justice Anthony Kennedy could be the decider-in-chief."

STRAIGHT UP

"It troubles me so much to see the type of tweets the President has put out in the last twelve hours or so."

Critics continue to grapple with Trump's decision on the Paris agreement

Former Vice President Al Gore called President Donald Trump's decision to initiate withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement "reckless," "indefensible" and a threat to humankind's ability to solve climate change.

And he said, with or without Trump, people would move forward on clean energy. Read more from his interview on CNN's "State of the Union."

Former Secretary of State John Kerry, who helped negotiate the deal, mocked Trump for saying the US would seek to renegotiate it.

"He's going to go out and find a better deal?" Kerry said on NBC. "That's like O.J. Simpson saying he's going to go out and find the real killer."

On the administration's side, UN ambassador Nikki Haley went where many others from Trump's team would not, saying Trump does believe in climate change.
